Job Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and maintain systems for managing P&F safety and environmental programs required by occupational health and safety laws, Ministry of Environment, and corporate standards.
• Identify, initiate, and present employee safety and environmental training.
• Maintain ISO-14001 certification and review policies annually with the Maintenance Manager.
• Monitor operations for compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, making recommendations for improvements.
• Review incident reports and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Coordinate activities of the Health, Safety & Environmental and Ergonomic Committees.
• Communicate mandatory Personal Protection requirements and review them regularly.
• Support all HSE questions and ensure P&F tools and systems pass audits and meet legal requirements.
• Develop HSE standards that meet legal and P&F requirements, finding the best solutions.
• Keep senior management updated on regulations and performance.
• Ensure a safe and clean workplace.
• Plan manpower requirements, scheduling, and training for HSE.
• Develop team and succession plans, and keep the team informed.
• Create procedures to comply with government, legal, and corporate standards, including ISO-14001 and IATF.
• Apply policies consistently and involve impacted departments in system or process changes.
• Standardize work and plan for priorities contributing to P&F’s success.
• Meet commitments, discuss alternatives when unable to meet deadlines, and continually improve systems and processes.
• Address issues proactively to meet standards and implement PDCA cycles.
• Perform duties reflecting Magna’s values and employee charter, and perform other duties as requested.
