Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our Human Resources team. Based in London, Ontario, you will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. You will develop, implement, and oversee our EHS programs, support regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in our operations.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including OHSA, WSIA, and environmental legislation
  • Lead the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems aligned with ISO 13485 and CSA standards
  • Create and manage EHS programs, including training, audits, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Oversee waste management practices and pollution control efforts
  • Conduct assessments related to industrial hygiene : air quality, noise, ergonomics, chemical exposure
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and conduct regular drills
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to support EHS goals
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by the direct supervisor

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in EHS roles within manufacturing environments, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical sectors
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 45001, GMP Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, communication, training, and leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems

Assets

  • Experience working in a greenfield start-up environment
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks specific to the City of London
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation
