Manage the onsite health care service provided to employees and subcontractors, including first response to areas of the project as required.

Maintain the onsite First Aid Room.

Manage the evaluation and treatment of employees with injuries and/or illnesses and referral to a physician or hospital, and subsequent follow-up treatment.

Follow-up on emergency hospital cases keeping the Claims Management, Site HSE team, and project management apprised of the status of patients.

Administer the Injury Management System including the completion and filing of required forms & reports.

  • Maintain confidential medical records in secure fireproof cabinets.

Implement project medical database to support the reporting and follow-up of injuries/illnesses managed by the on-site medical staff.

Participate in the development of emergency response plans and coordination for the project.

Secondary Duties

Support site-specific safety orientations, job site inspections, and accident/incident reports.

Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance with safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution.

  • Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them.
  • Support the organization and scheduling of training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid.

Assist with the review and file subcontractors’ safety submittals.

Is this the right role for you?
  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years of safety construction experience (ICI).
  • You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
  • You are working towards, or are already certified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on a construction site.

Applicants must be registered with the Emergency Medical Assistance licensing board.

  • Must possess a Provincially approved current CPR/AED/First Aid at the Health Care Provider level.
  • Knowledge of current occupational health practices and applicable legislation is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Preference will be given to those with Primary Care Paramedic (PCP).
  • Proficient in the handling of emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of medical record keeping requirements in accordance with standards of professional practice, applicable governmental regulations, and HSE requirements.

Knowledge of and experience with data management systems and computer hardware/software.

Knowledge of and experience in organizational and medical management and the principles and methodologies involved in medical practices.

Skills in verbal and written communication.
