We are committed to improving collective health and well-being and making care better through innovative use of technology and community-centered approaches. With over 25 years of experience and over 1000 employees, our services include home support, residential care for children and youth, support for adults with I/DD, indigenous community capacity development, supervised family access, and private health and occupational safety services. Brightisle is a local, fully owned subsidiary of Seafair Capital.

What We Want You To Do

  • Lead occupational health and safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment for all employees, in collaboration with management.
  • Develop and implement requirements for the PRIME 2026 changes for large employers.
  • Evaluate and uphold the PRIME program requirements, including annual audits.
  • Provide guidance and advice to management and employees on health and safety matters, including training, records management, and safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace NL and provincial health and safety legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Develop, review, and implement occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Manage the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees.
  • Oversee the medical accommodation process.
  • Support HR in absenteeism management and manage incident claims, including claims review and incident analysis.
  • Lead incident investigations and recommend preventative measures, analyzing incident trends to improve safety strategies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience as a Wellness Consultant, Occupational Health and Safety Advisor, or relevant education in an occupational health-related field.
  • A desire to work in a vibrant, inclusive environment that fosters career growth.
  • Experience developing comprehensive health, safety, and wellness strategies tailored to organizational needs.
  • Ability to analyze incident data and compliance metrics to improve safety outcomes.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to regulations such as Workplace NL and NL Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with leadership qualities to recommend and implement changes.
  • Proficiency with software applications such as spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and word processing programs.

Education and Experience

We value diverse backgrounds and recognize that formal education is just one path to gaining the necessary skills. Candidates with relevant lived experience, professional development, or community involvement are encouraged to apply.
