REAL ALLOY is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production, with 17 plants across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. We convert aluminum scrap into reusable metal for various industries, emphasizing environmentally sustainable practices. This position is based in MISSISSAUGA, CANADA.
As the REAL ALLOY Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist, you will foster a safety-first culture by managing employee health, safety, and site environmental compliance. You will collaborate with site leaders to ensure safety and environmental standards are met, supporting continuous improvement of HSE programs, processes, and systems. This role involves on-site presence at our Mississauga plant.

This is a SHORT TERM CONTRACT (12-MONTHS), working Monday to Friday onsite at the Mississauga Foundry.

As Co-Chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, you will lead workplace inspections, assist with safety meetings, develop training programs, and ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations. You will maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, conduct employee and contractor orientation, support incident investigations, and participate in emergency response and special projects related to HSE. Supporting life-safety programs, change management, and capital requests are also part of this role.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in HSE, science, engineering, or related fields, with at least five years of experience as an HSE Specialist. Experience with HSE Management Systems, risk assessments, and continuous improvement tools like Six Sigma or Lean Sigma is required. Proficiency in HSE software, LMS systems, and MS Office is essential. Strong communication and regulatory interpretation skills are also necessary.
