Summary Of Duties
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis & review of patients’ charts in accordance with legislative requirements and Hospital policies;
- Processing of Surgical Day Care visits according to departmental procedures.
- Assist in other departmental duties as required.
- May be required to work from other sites i.e., Holland Centre and SJR.
Qualifications/Skills
- Certified with CHIMA/Certified Health Record Technician;
- Minimum of one year experience in a Health Record Department;
- Minimum of six months experience working in a Health Record Technician role preferred;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Typing at 40 net wpm or data entry at 106 net kspm;
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and maintain good public relations with physicians, patients and other hospital staff;
- Proven ability to respond effectively in stressful situations;
- Demonstrated sound judgment and diplomacy;
- Attention to detail;
- Candidates will be required to perform clerical and departmental testing.
