Job summary

Discovery Community College seeks a dedicated HCA Instructor to teach Onsite Lab and Clinical Sites in the Vancouver region. This part-time role offers mentorship, growth, and the chance to shape future nursing professionals through engaging instruction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience (including maternity, mental health, or acute care).
• Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN is required.

Start date: Oct 27, 2026

Rate Range: $34- $45 for LPN (based on years of experience and levels of care) $40-$60 for RN (based on years of experience and levels of care)

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 5:00pm) Current Instruction hours subject to change depended on class schedule

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in clinical settings.
• Execute lesson plans using preset curriculum that aligns with PTIRU compliance (extensive in-house curriculum orientation and training provided).
• Provide hands‑on training and supervision in clinical environments.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
• Stay current with best practices and developments in nursing education.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of either maternity or mental health or Acute Care.
• Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required.
• Previous instructor experience is an asset.
• Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience.
• Ability to travel to local sites within region.

Required Experience:

• In a Long‑term Care facility in Canada within the last two years, or relevant experience.
