Job Summary

The Health Care Aide (HCA) assists residents with daily activities under the supervision of a nurse, ensuring safety, dignity, and personalized care. The role promotes residents’ physical, social, and emotional well-being and adheres to all safety and care standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide personalized care based on individual care plans, encouraging resident participation in daily activities.
  2. Establish respectful, therapeutic relationships with residents and their families, respecting their rights and autonomy.
  3. Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding.
  4. Support residents in participating in social, recreational, and spiritual activities.
  5. Follow safety protocols for lifting, transferring, and positioning residents.
  6. Contribute to and update residents’ care plans, advocating for their needs.
  7. Administer medications as directed by nursing staff, observing and reporting any changes in residents’ conditions.
  8. Document care activities accurately and timely.
  9. Maintain a clean, safe, and homelike environment for residents and staff.
  10. Participate in team meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized Health Care Aide program is required.
