This position is located in Valleyview, Alberta. The successful candidates must be willing to relocate or commute to Valleyview, Alberta.

We are currently seeking Health Care Aides to join us at South Valley Residence, our premier community located in the vibrant, diverse, and active town of Valleyview, AB.

As a Health Care Aide at South Valley Residence, you will:

  • Provide resident-focused care in a home-like environment, respecting the individual and dignity of each resident/family and co-workers.
  • Participate in all aspects of personal resident care to ensure the physical, psychological, and social needs of the resident/family are met.
  • Establish communication and a working relationship with residents/families and co-workers for the purpose of meeting the resident needs.
  • Deliver effective and efficient care under the direction of the supervisor that promotes resident/family choice and acknowledges the resident's strengths, limitations, as well as their need for safety and safety of others.
  • Assist with serving meals, feeding, and providing nourishment supplements.
  • Respond to any resident in need regarding call bells, telephone ringing, and assisting any employee in need of help.
  • Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing and other personal hygiene activities.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement.
  • Creates a facility environment that protects confidentiality of residents, staff, and activities of the community.

What you bring:

  • Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Current membership in good standing with Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • CPR/BCLS for healthcare provider required.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service on behalf Advantage Assist
