Overnight availability: Hours can range from (2200-0800) including every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the ability to travel to Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, North East/West Edmonton, South East/West Edmonton & Central Edmonton.

Based out of We Care Home Health Services, a division of CBI Health Group in Edmonton, you will provide quality, patient-centered care to our clients. As a Pediatric Health Care Aide (HCA), you will provide care to children (age 0-17) with complex health care needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES

As a Pediatric Health Care Aide, your responsibilities may include:

  1. Tracheostomy care and suctioning
  2. G-tube management
  3. Medication Administration
  4. Oxygen & Humidity Therapy
  5. Providing personal care to children proactively and with compassion
QUALIFICATIONS

To take on the role of Pediatric Health Care Aide, you must have:

  1. Health Care Aide Certificate.
  2. Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry Number
  3. Current CPR-Provider certification
  4. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 3 months and Intervention Record Check.
  5. Completion of 3 day Care of Children with Complex Needs course (provided by employer)
  6. Evidence of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date Immunization Record.
  7. Availability to work 10 hour overnight awake visits including every other weekend
  8. Good oral and written communication skills.
  9. Proven interpersonal and organizational skills.
  10. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  11. Previous child care experience is an asset.
