We are currently seeking a Health Care Aide to join our team. The role involves providing hands-on personal care, medication administration, light housekeeping, meal assistance, and participation in social-recreational activities.

Responsibilities

1. Assist residents with move-ins and facility orientation.
2. Perform light housekeeping in resident suites and common areas.
3. Support personal care activities such as dressing, bathing, and managing incontinence.
4. Assist with simple transfers.
5. Respond calmly to medical emergencies.
6. Support resident laundry and meal service as needed.
7. Follow Care Plans and report changes or concerns.
8. Administer, monitor, and record medication.
9. Work with residents to meet care requirements and communicate with doctors and managers as needed.
10. Maintain competence through ongoing knowledge, skills, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adults.
11. Ensure compliance with provincial standards, legislation, and safety regulations.
12. Promote safety through accident and injury prevention practices.
13. Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification.
2. Registration with the provincial Health Care Registry.
3. Completion of Medication Administration Course.
4. Experience in residential care preferred.
5. Knowledge of Infection Control procedures.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with residents, peers, and visitors.
7. Strong organizational skills for handling multiple requests.
8. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
9. Ability to prioritize and solve problems.
10. Flexibility to work various shifts.
11. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
12. Compassion and proficiency in assisting residents.
