We are currently seeking a Health Care Aide to join our team. The role involves providing hands-on personal care, medication administration, light housekeeping, meal assistance, and participation in social-recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with move-ins and facility orientation.
• Perform light housekeeping in resident suites and common areas.
• Support personal care activities such as dressing, bathing, and managing incontinence.
• Assist with simple transfers.
• Respond calmly to medical emergencies.
• Support resident laundry and meal service as needed.
• Follow Care Plans and report changes or concerns.
• Administer, monitor, and record medication.
• Work with residents to meet care requirements and communicate with doctors and managers as needed.
• Maintain competence through ongoing knowledge, skills, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adults.
• Ensure compliance with provincial standards, legislation, and safety regulations.
• Promote safety through accident and injury prevention practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification.
• Registration with the provincial Health Care Registry.
• Completion of Medication Administration Course.
• Experience in residential care preferred.
• Knowledge of Infection Control procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with residents, peers, and visitors.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to prioritize and solve problems.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Compassion and proficiency in assisting residents.
