Job summary

Nurse Next Door is hiring Health Care Assistants to support seniors across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Mission. This role requires ongoing availability of 20 hours per week with shifts of 2–8 hours in length, based on client needs in multiple cities.

Competitive wages up to $25/hr depending on experience, with 2–3 client visits daily, and bonuses for referring A-players. Benefits begin at 35 hours/week; scheduling is flexible to fit your availability.

Qualifications

• Excellent English skills (written & spoken).
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search within last 12 months.
• TB test within last 24 months.
• Proof of Double COVID-19 vaccination.
• Current First Aid with CPR or status as Internationally Educated Nurse/Student Nurse with school authorization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Happier Aging by empowering seniors to do what they love while giving families peace of mind.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, meals, personal care, light housekeeping, errands and companionship.
• Provide high-quality home care within the client care plan under supervision of a Care Designer.
• Complete records and documentation using the online app.
• Represent Nurse Next Door with professionalism.

Our Care Team members serve clients in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Mission.

This role will suit Health Care Assistants who are able to commit ongoing availability of 20 hours per week and able to work shifts anywhere between 2 - 8 hours in length. You must be able to work in at least TWO OF THE FOLLOWING CITIES: COQUITLAM, PORT COQUITLAM, PITT MEADOWS, MAPLE RIDGE OR MISSION.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Deliver Happier Aging, empowering seniors to do what they love, while bringing peace of mind to them & their families


• Help clients with their activities of daily living: healthy meal preparation, personal care, light housekeeping, errands, companionship, transportation, etc..


• Deliver premium home health care within the scope of your foreign nurse, PSW, RCA, HCA training, your job description, and the clients’ care plan under the direction of a Care Designer.


• Complete records and documentation using an online app.


• Represent Nurse Next Door with professionalism.

Requirements:

• Previous home health care experience as an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN), RCA, PSW, or HCA is an asset


• Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (within last 12 months)


• TB test (within last 24 months)


• Proof of Double COVID 19 Vaccination


• Current Frist Aid with CPR or Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN). Student Nurses require a letter from School that confirms the student candidate can do the tasks of a Health Care Aide.


• Excellent English skill (written & verbal)


• Clean driver's abstract and willing to drive seniors


• Able to work multiple shifts of 2-8 hours per shift in at least TWO OF THE FOLLOWING CITIES: COQUITLAM, PORT COQUITLAM, PITT MEADOWS, MAPLE RIDGE OR MISSION


• Two positive professional references
