Job Title:

- Reports To:Site Supervisor / Clinical Nurse Lead / Health Director
- Employment Type:Full-time / Part-time / Casual(Temporary Staffing)
Job Purpose:
TheRegistered Care Aideprovides compassionate, culturally safe care to clients inFirst Nations communitiesacrossBC. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist clients with daily living activities and support their overall health and well-being in both clinical and community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Provide emotional and physical support in medical, rehabilitation, and wellness settings
- Safely assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to clinical staff
- Encourage client independence and support self-care based on individual care plans
Health and Wellness Support:
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care and rehabilitation plans
- Promote culturally appropriate and safe care practices
- Participate in health promotion and wellness initiatives within community settings
- Provide services atFNHA-operated sitesincluding Nursing Stations, Health Centres, and Satellite Clinics
- May be assigned to work within the followingBC Health Authorities:Interior Health,Fraser Health,Vancouver Coastal Health,Island Health,Northern Health, andPHSA
Qualifications:
- Certificationas aHealth Care Assistant (HCA)orRegistered Care Aidefrom a recognized program
- Active registrationin good standing with theBC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Valid CPR and First Aidcertification (preferred)
- Experience working in rural or remoteIndigenous communitiesis an asset
