Job Purpose:

TheRegistered Care Aideprovides compassionate, culturally safe care to clients inFirst Nations communitiesacrossBC. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist clients with daily living activities and support their overall health and well-being in both clinical and community-based settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Provide emotional and physical support in medical, rehabilitation, and wellness settings
• Safely assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation
• Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to clinical staff
• Encourage client independence and support self-care based on individual care plans

Health and Wellness Support:

• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care and rehabilitation plans
• Promote culturally appropriate and safe care practices
• Participate in health promotion and wellness initiatives within community settings
• Provide services atFNHA-operated sitesincluding Nursing Stations, Health Centres, and Satellite Clinics
• May be assigned to work within the followingBC Health Authorities:Interior Health,Fraser Health,Vancouver Coastal Health,Island Health,Northern Health, andPHSA

Qualifications:

• Certificationas aHealth Care Assistant (HCA)orRegistered Care Aidefrom a recognized program

• Experience working in rural or remoteIndigenous communitiesis an asset
