Job Description

The PSW / HCA / CCA provides direct personal support and care to patients to fulfill their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines. Responsibilities include providing direct care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.

Access to a reliable vehicle in community home care is required.

Qualifications:

  1. Completed a PSW Program or HCA / CCA certification meeting the required standards
  2. Currently registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  3. Experience in Long Term Care or community home care, with exposure to dementia and palliative care preferred
  4. Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation
  5. Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients, and families
  6. Ability to provide care in accordance with legislation, routines, and care plans; proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English instructions
  7. Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset
