Position Title: Health Care Aide/Clinic Assistant

Job Status: Term Position – Full Time until February 2026

Reports to: Administrative Billing Manager and Clinic Business Operations Manager

Your Role:

Heartland Fertility and Gynecology Clinic is seeking a confident, professional, positive and experienced individual to join our team as a part time Health Care Aide/Clinic Assistant. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Administrative Billing Manager and will act as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, assisting with patient care, ensuring care, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and providing support services to the care teams as delegated.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and demonstrate safe work practices.
  2. Maintain and clean equipment and carry out other duties related to maintaining a safe, clean environment.
  3. Greet, room, and provide appointment instructions and appropriate supplies to patients.
  4. Ensure efficient and timely room turnover including cleaning and sterilizing beds, equipment, and ultrasound machines.
  5. Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing ultrasound probes using the correct technique and Trophon.
  6. Clean, sterilize, package, and autoclave medical instruments in relief of the Medical Device Reprocessing technician when needed.
  7. Work in conjunction with physician “pods” to assist with patient chart preparation within the EMR and paper charts.
  8. Responsible for stocking patient and procedure rooms ensuring that adequate amounts are available at all times.
  9. Demonstrate ability to provide continuous quality patient care.
  10. Train and provide relief coverage at the front reception desk including but not limited to answering phones, checking in patients, scanning and faxing, and emails.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Position Requirements:

  1. Completed Grade XII or equivalent Required.
  2. Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Course Required OR current enrollment in an RN or LPN nursing program in Manitoba.
  3. Previous experience working in a hospital or clinic setting would be an asset.
  4. Knowledge of Women’s Health medical terminology would be an asset.
  5. Current BCLS certification.
  6. Excellent and efficient computer, communication, and organization skills.
  7. Experience with Accuro is preferred.
  8. Must be able to work effectively and productively both independently and as part of the Heartland team.
  9. Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
  10. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  11. Ability to multi-task as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 11 months

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
