Qualifications

The Opportunity

The Health Care Aide, reporting to Community Care RN Case Managers, provides personal care and performs tasks within their knowledge and skill set, under supervision, while adhering to regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to resident/client/family concerns and ensure appropriate action within your decision-making authority or communicate concerns to your supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, including residents' equipment, belongings, and nursing equipment.
  • Observe and report safety concerns to the Client Service Supervisor, implement interventions as directed, and advocate for client safety.
  • Engage with other agencies involved in resident/client care as directed.
  • Attend in-service training to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Work in trust with vulnerable adults (residents).
  • Uphold the organization's values and ethics, including integrity and morality, as outlined in the Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Health Care Aide program or equivalent with a minimum of 500 hours of theory and practicum.
  • Experience working with seniors in community health settings.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proven skills in providing personal care duties.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification recommended.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as lifting/transferring clients.
  • Provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
