Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Health Care Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on support that helps residents live with dignity, comfort, and independence. You will assist with personal care, meals, daily activities, and medication administration in a safe, respectful environment.

The role emphasizes empathy, clear communication, and teamwork within a warm, inclusive culture that values resident well-being and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Secondary school completion required; PSW, HCA or DSW certification preferred.
• Experience in personal care, food service, or hospitality an asset.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to follow directions clearly.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting seniors.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and carrying
• Must be in good physical and mental health
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols
• Flexibility to respond to emergency situations when needed
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
