Job description

The Bow River Seniors Lodge is a 60-unit Supported Living facility in Canmore, Alberta: 30 units SL4 and 30 units SL4D. SE Health (SE) will provide care management services, and Bow Valley Regional Housing (BVRH) will provide hospitality and accommodation services.

Position Summary

The Health Care Aide is a vital member of the care team, providing care for residents in seniors living facilities using a client- and family-centered approach grounded in current research.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide hospitality model services, including personal care, activities of daily living, laundry, light housekeeping, meal assistance, porter services, and recreational activities as per individual care plans.
  • Assist with medication management according to resident care plans.
  • Report changes in resident conditions and other pertinent issues to the LPN promptly.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to adapt routines to meet residents' needs.
  • Deliver quality service aligned with Care Plans and SE policies, participating in care plan development and updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation daily.
  • Participate actively in ongoing educational programs.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Up-to-date immunization record, including a current TB test within the past year.
  • Recent Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector Checks (within 90 days).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong organizational skills.
  • Compassionate, respectful, sincere, with effective conflict resolution skills.
  • This position is physically demanding, requiring dexterity, sensory ability, lifting up to 55 pounds, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.
