Job summary

Mimak Care Corporation is seeking qualified and compassionate Health Care Assistants (HCAs) for assignments across British Columbia, including long-term care and assisted living facilities.

Qualified candidates must hold a BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry registration, an HCA certificate, CPR/First Aid where required, and a valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance. TB screening, immunizations, and dementia training may be required.

Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
• Recognized Health Care Assistant / Care Aide certificate.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification, as required.
• Valid criminal record check, including vulnerable sector clearance ( within 6 months).
• TB screening and immunization records (MMR).
• Ability to safely assist residents with personal care, mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work within the HCA scope of practice and follow the direction of regulated healthcare professionals.
• Safe resident handling and transfer training.
• Dementia and responsive behaviour training.
