Description

As a Lead Associate, you will be a key member of the client team providing financial and technical expertise. You will contribute to a wide variety of complex analyses and projects involving the design, financing, and measurement of employer group benefit programs including medical, dental, life, disability, and optional benefits. You will interface with carriers, vendors, and client service teams, contributing to the preparation of complex analyses to ensure quality standards are met. This role offers an opportunity to provide critical support on financial projects and to develop our intellectual capital.

The Role

  • Develop knowledge of varying client complexities by working across different segments, supporting financial engagements, and managing analyst resources for effective delivery of complex client deliverables such as flexible benefit pricing and renewals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in benefit plan design, underwriting, funding concepts, carrier/vendor renewals, and RFPs.
  • Support multiple employer client teams with financial analyses and client deliverables.
  • Guide mid-sized clients on benefit plan analysis, design, cost avoidance, risk, and funding strategies.
  • Review technical accuracy across projects.
  • Develop pricing models, design alternatives, and ensure reasonability.
  • Communicate financial and analytical results effectively to drive client action.
  • Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams for project management and reporting.
  • Build strong internal relationships and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally in benefit consulting, brokerage, health underwriting, or actuarial functions within insurance companies.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness within budget.
  • Knowledge of benefit programs, underwriting, and funding concepts.
  • Experience with traditional and flexible benefit programs, including design, renewal pricing, negotiations, and RFP analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with data to develop insights.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues with limited information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, curious, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Creative, integrative thinking skills.
  • Experience leading and providing feedback to junior colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Life and Health license required within 180 days of joining.
  • Relevant experience and/or university degree.
