A growing Construction company in Brampton, Ontario is seeking to add their Safety team. This company has been a leader in construction for over 30 years, with many large, ongoing projects located throughout the Greater Toronto Area and all over Ontario. The Health and Safety Officer role is a full-time position where traveling to job sites is a requirement. The successful candidate will ensure safe working environments and contribute to the positive working environment.

The role :

• Traveling to multiple jobsites to monitor and enforce health and safety compliance for all on-site workers.
• Communicating with all members of the project, including general contractors, sub-contractors & project owners as needed.
• Establishing Health & Safety job boards and providing all safety information at new job sites.
• Thorough documentation of training / certification, equipment maintenance for contractors.
• Conducting site inspections, documenting and developing corrective measures, recording all accidents, incidents and injuries are reported to the appropriate parties.

The candidate :

• 2+ years of Health and Safety experience, with a preference to years spent working in the Construction industry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and someone who can communicate clearly both written and verbally.
• Someone comfortable working independently as well as collaborating in a team setting.
• A strong passion for the importance of safety and someone who can articulate that to all staff members.
