Location: Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area, Canada

Reporting To: Head of H&S Accreditation

Description

Building innovative solutions; enabling safer workplaces for everyone.

We'll create a safer working world, building software to support a global network of responsible buyers, suppliers and partners.

We take the pain out of compliance for over 50,000 organisations globally, helping them protect their people, their operations, and the planet.

Keeping our network of hiring clients, suppliers, and contractors compliant with the standards that matter most, from health and safety and sustainability to ethical behaviour by building best in class solutions.

What that means day-to-day:

As a Health and Safety Assessor, your role is twofold - combining hands-on contractor compliance expertise with technology-driven innovation:

Contractor Accreditation & Guidance

Drawing on your seasoned experience, you will serve as a subject matter expert driving the accreditation and H&S Program Review process. You will evaluate contractor applications, assess safety documentation against regulatory standards, and guide contractors along their path to compliance.

Transforming Compliance Through Technology

You will play a pivotal role in bringing technology to compliance. Beyond day-to-day reviews, you will collaborate across Product and Operations teams, applying your domain expertise to evolve our systems, refine workflows, and enhance our internal knowledge base to advance our compliance technology platform.

What We Offer
  • Exposure to Transform Compliance: Directly shape the future of safety by applying subject matter expertise to modern compliance technology and workflows.
  • Mission-Driven Impact: Contribute to a platform dedicated to bringing workers home safely from high-hazard jobs every day.
  • Professional Growth: Gain hands-on exposure to the latest technologies collaborating across Operations and Product teams to elevate safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Contractor Compliance & Accreditation Assessment
  • Evaluate contractor applications, H&S program documentation, and supporting evidence in alignment with standard procedures across Veriforce systems.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to help evolve our systems and enhance our knowledge base.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance of assessment results and maintain proper evidence handling and recordkeeping.
  • Assist in developing and refining health and safety assessment criteria, accreditation standards, and necessary documentation standards.
  • Collate data and produce management reports to analyze program results, identify compliance trends, gaps, and drive operational improvements.
  • Adhere strictly to operational processes, standard requirements, and quality assurance protocols.
Contractor Relationship & Customer Management
  • Provide guidance to contractors via phone and email, undertaking scheduled follow-up calls to build positive, professional relationships while representing Veriforce’s mission and values.
  • Resolve contractor issues by clarifying complaints, identifying root causes, explaining appropriate solutions, and ensuring full follow-through.
Performance Metrics
  • Regulatory & Program Compliance: Accurately apply safety regulations and program standards across all assessments.
  • Timeliness: Process contractor applications and program reviews efficiently to meet turnaround goals and quarterly metrics set by the Accreditation Manager.
  • Data Integrity: Precisely capture, record, and maintain contractor information within internal systems.
