We are looking for a customer-oriented, motivated individual to join our professional team as an Environment, Health and Safety Coordinator for our Southern Ontario Region. The home office is in Bolton, ON, and the region covered includes branches across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Ensure accurate record keeping of health & safety compliance files
  2. Manage documents such as TDG updates and manifests, license renewals, and Hazardous Waste Information Network documents
  3. Perform customer service functions by answering team member health & safety requests / questions
  4. Write, revise, proofread, and edit company safety policies
  5. Enter data and ensure follow-ups of incidents / accidents and participate in accident investigations and analysis
  6. Assist with the preparation of new team member safety files and onboarding documents
  7. Maintain, update, and audit training records
  8. Support safety initiatives
  9. Coordinate and participate in Joint Health and Safety committee meetings and ensure functionality of the committee
  10. Assist with branch audits and document deficiencies and submit corrective actions
  11. Assist with Workers Compensation Claims Management and coordinate the return-to-work process
  12. Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements :

  1. At least 3-5 years of health & safety experience, preferably in a construction-related environment
  2. Valid Class G Driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract
  3. Post-secondary diploma in Environment, Health and Safety Management or a relevant program, or equivalent experience
  4. Knowledge of COR process, and COR Internal Auditor certification is required (or in the process of achieving COR Internal Auditor certification)
  5. CRSP (or working towards) is an asset
  6. Experience with WSIB injury reporting and submissions
  7. Train the Trainer certificate would be an asset
  8. Very strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  9. Effective communication skills reflected in the ability to foster strong working relationships
  10. Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  11. Very team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong active listening skills
  12. Able to exercise discretion and tact in sensitive and confidential situations
  13. Willingness to travel between the Southern Ontario branches as needed
  14. Knowledge of Ontario environment, health and safety regulations
  15. Knowledge of heavy equipment and construction industry terms and processes is an asset
  16. Passion for health and safety!
