Overview

The Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA) is seeking a dynamic WorkSafely Safety Advisor to help advance health and safety practices in Manitoba’s heavy / civil construction industry. This role is titled Director of WorkSafely and recognizes the Top Woman in Safety Canada 2023.

Position: Director of WorkSafely | Top Woman in Safety Canada 2023

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba | Full-time | Some Travel Required

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver in-class and virtual training for COR and related safety programs.
  • Conduct audits and evaluate workplace safety systems.
  • Provide expert advice on safety compliance and implementation of safety management systems.
  • Develop improvement plans to support companies on their safety journey.
  • Promote COR certification and MHCA WorkSafely programs.
  • Develop safety resources to support industry companies.
What You Bring
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Sound knowledge of provincial safety legislation and the COR program (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills to interact with workers, supervisors, and company leaders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CRM tools.
  • Health and safety designation (e.g., CRSP, CRST, CHSC) is preferred.
  • Background in heavy / civil construction safety is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
