Health and Safety Advisor
We’re hiring a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Fort McMurray team on a 7x7 day shift. This is a 12-month temporary role with the possibility of extension — a great opportunity to build your experience while supporting a team that puts safety first. You’ll work directly with our crews to help ensure everyone goes home safe. The role offers a competitive salary of $90,000–$100,000 per year. Your Role

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll help foster a proactive safety culture by supporting our employees and operations through education, coaching, and continuous improvement. You’ll be a key player in creating a safe and compliant work environment.

Health, Safety & Environment Initiatives

  • Partner with employees and supervisors to identify and address safety and environmental concerns
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and records
  • Support monthly safety meetings and inspections
  • Provide hands-on guidance to enhance safety awareness and culture

Training & Development

  • Lead and support safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and workshops
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to improve training content
  • Ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge and tools to work safely
  • Promote continuous learning and awareness around health, safety, and the environment

What You Bring

  • Education & Experience: A diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and at least 1 year of relevant experience in an industrial environments
  • Tech Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • People Skills:
  • Clear communicator with strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
  • Training Mindset: Experience coaching others and understanding adult learning principles
  • Presentation Ability: Confident delivering in-person and tech-based training

Pre-Employment Requirements

To meet customer site access requirements, successful candidates may be required complete:

  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • 5-year commercial driver’s abstract
  • Reference check
