Health and Safety Administrator
We are seeking a professional and highly organized Health and Safety Administrator with three to five years of relevant experience to support our construction operations. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate safety documentation, supporting compliance activities, and helping ensure that worker training records remain complete and current.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date worker training records, certificates, orientations, and other compliance documentation.
- Monitor training expiry dates and coordinate renewals or refresher training as required.
- Interact professionally with clients, supervisors, and workers to provide requested safety files, certifications, and supporting documents.
- Support internal and external health and safety audits, including document preparation, record review, corrective‑action tracking, and follow‑up.
- Conduct and document worker orientations.
- Organize, stock, issue, and track safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Enter, update, and retrieve information using health and safety management software.
- Prepare spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and other administrative materials using Microsoft Office applications.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of health and safety processes, procedures, and record‑keeping systems.
- Travel as required to company offices and project locations throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and Southwestern Ontario, including Vaughan, Milton, London, Kitchener, and Niagara Falls.
Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in health and safety administration, preferably in the construction industry.
- Professional demeanour and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated diligence in maintaining accurate, complete, and current training and compliance records.
- Experience supporting or conducting health and safety audits.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Working knowledge of construction health and safety requirements, documentation, and software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability and willingness to travel to company offices and project locations as required.
Preferred Assets
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation.
- Additional experience with construction safety audits, inspections, or COR-related documentation.
