Salary: $50 000 per year

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Maître d’Hôtel is responsible for the overall management, organization, and smooth operation of daily restaurant and banquet activities. They oversee and coordinate service operations in accordance with established standards. When needed, the Maître d’Hôtel may also provide supervisory support to other food and beverage outlets.

Responsibilities:

Banquet Management

  • Participate in event coordination by reviewing upcoming BEOs to ensure accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
  • Oversee the seamless execution of banquet events from start to finish.
  • Ensure optimal customer service and satisfaction throughout and after events, addressing complaints when necessary.
  • Organize the setup and teardown of banquet rooms.
  • Optimize the use of all facilities and equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of service areas to ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist in the management of the restaurant when required.
  • Perform other related duties to ensure high-quality service across the department.


Team Management & Communication:

  • Support the Food & Beverage Director in managing the service team.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members when necessary.
  • Supervise, motivate, and guide service staff during events.
  • Foster clear and effective communication within the department and with other hotel departments.
  • Provide hands-on support to staff during peak service periods.
  • Proactively communicate supply, equipment, and other operational needs.


Customer Service:

  • Greet and welcome guests, respond to special requests, and obtain client approval for any service modifications.
  • Monitor and ensure guest satisfaction throughout service delivery.
  • Address and follow up on customer feedback and complaints professionally.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Maître d’Hôtel or in a similar supervisory role within the food and beverage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of dining service standards, service protocols, and hospitality etiquette.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, solve problems quickly, and make sound decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills, including administrative task management and team scheduling.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation with the ability to meet and exceed high guest expectations.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Bilingual – fluent in French and English.


Required Experience: 1–2 years in a restaurant service or hospitality environment.

Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is required for this position as we serve an international client.
