Job description

Overview
About Clearview by Panasonic

Clearview by Panasonic is a B2B SaaS company serving quick service restaurant operators and franchise organizations. Our platform supports restaurant performance through reporting, analytics, forecasting, and business intelligence. We currently operate across North America and Japan and are preparing for international expansion while adding AI-based capabilities to our solution. They have offices in Niagara, Ontario and Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The Opportunity

Clearview is entering its next phase of growth, evolving from a conventional reporting and analytics SaaS provider into a global, AI-powered Restaurant Operations Intelligence platform for quick service restaurant operators. We're looking for a technology leader who can strengthen our core SaaS platform, scale our engineering organization, turn our restaurant data advantage into practical AI products, and make engineering productivity a top operating priority.

This is a strategic executive leadership role responsible for the engineering organization, technology roadmap, platform architecture, AI capabilities, delivery discipline, and a company-level productivity transformation across the software development lifecycle. You'll combine technical depth, SaaS scaling experience, AI and data fluency, product partnership, customer orientation, and a track record of improving engineering productivity through modern AI tools, automation, and disciplined process design.

Responsibilities
Technology Leadership
  • Define and execute Clearview's technology strategy and architecture roadmap.

  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the Clearview platform.

  • Lead platform modernization, cloud infrastructure, API, and DevOps strategy.

  • Establish engineering standards, delivery practices, and technical governance.

AI & Data Strategy
  • Lead the evolution of Clearview's AI, machine learning, forecasting, and decision-support capabilities.

  • Partner with Product to identify high-value AI use cases for restaurant operators and enterprise customers.

  • Establish practical MLOps, data governance, model deployment, and monitoring practices.

  • Translate AI capabilities into measurable customer and commercial value.

AI-Enabled Engineering Productivity
  • Make engineering productivity a primary strategic objective, with clear baselines, targets, and executive-level reporting.

  • Define and implement an AI-enabled software development lifecycle spanning discovery, design, coding, code review, testing, documentation, deployment, and support.

  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted coding, automated test generation, code quality analysis, documentation generation, DevOps automation, and developer knowledge tools.

  • Reduce cycle time, rework, manual testing burden, and avoidable production defects through AI-enabled workflows and stronger engineering discipline.

  • Establish responsible AI guardrails, security controls, IP protection, and measurement practices for AI use in development.

  • Build a culture where engineers use AI to increase leverage while maintaining accountability, craftsmanship, and customer trust.

Engineering Organization
  • Recruit, develop, and retain world-class engineering talent.

  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and execution.

  • Develop engineering managers, technical leaders, career paths, and succession plans.

  • Improve delivery predictability, quality, and communication across teams.

Product Partnership
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management on roadmap planning, prioritization, and release execution.

  • Balance innovation, customer commitments, technical debt, and platform investment.

  • Ensure engineering decisions are grounded in customer outcomes and business priorities.

  • Build strong alignment between engineering, product, sales, customer success, and executive leadership.

International Growth
  • Build technology capabilities that support global expansion.

  • Lead platform localization, multi-region deployment, data residency, and scalability planning.

  • Evaluate regional technical, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

  • Support market entry planning for new geographies and enterprise customers.

Executive Leadership
  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team.

  • Communicate technology strategy to customers, partners, investors, and the Board.

  • Support enterprise sales and strategic customer conversations where technology credibility matters.

  • Help shape Clearview's long-term strategy, investment priorities, and competitive positioning.

Qualifications
Leadership Experience
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.

  • 5+ years leading engineering teams in a SaaS environment.

  • Experience managing managers and building scalable engineering organizations.

  • A demonstrated track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.

Technical Experience
  • Experience building and scaling cloud-based SaaS platforms.

  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and multi-tenant platforms.

  • Experience with data platforms, analytics, security, and reliability practices.

  • Direct experience with AI/ML capabilities, and with AI-assisted engineering, automation, and process redesign to improve productivity, quality, testing, documentation, and delivery workflows.

  • Ability to translate AI opportunities into commercial product capabilities.

Business Experience
  • Strong product and customer orientation.

  • Experience working with enterprise customers and strategic accounts.

  • A track record of aligning technology decisions with business outcomes.

  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to Have
  • QSR, restaurant, retail, hospitality, franchising, or multi-location operations experience.

  • Experience with forecasting, optimization, labor planning, inventory planning, or operational analytics products.

  • International software deployment, localization, or multi-region SaaS experience.
