Purpose Of Position

The Head of Product – Resource Optimization is responsible for leading a product management team and driving the vision, strategy, product introduction, and lifecycle management for Hexagon’s Resource Optimization portfolio. This role is central in bringing to market solutions that support optimization of resource extraction for Hexagon mining customers.

With a remit spanning mine planning through to processing plant solutions, the opportunity is to deliver integrated workflows that unlock high-value mining insights and accelerate engineering and resource recovery outcomes. The portfolio plays a pivotal role in connecting planning and operational data, enabling customers to make smarter, data-driven decisions that improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance sustainability.

This position requires strong product management expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions to a global customer base. The successful candidate will guide a team of product managers, product specialists, and product designers to ensure high-quality product introductions, adoption, and market growth. Additionally, this role demands leadership across the Hexagon organization to align execution with strategic goals and deliver measurable business results

Major Areas Of Responsibility

  • Product Vision and Strategy : Define and communicate the portfolio vision and strategy aligned with the broader vision for the company and overall business objectives.
  • Product Team Leadership : Lead and develop a high-performing product management team, fostering and coaching on the key principles of a product led organisation. Providing guidance and experience for best practices for successful product management.
  • Market Analysis & Product Market Fit : For all products in the portfolio, ensure product managers are up to date with market dynamics, customer needs and competitor landscape as a foundation for product strategy and identifying opportunities and threats. Additionally, identify gaps in safety portfolio where additional products / solutions or partnership opportunities exist.
  • Product Commercials & Pricing : Ownership of product revenue and cost forecasts in line with portfolio strategy and market adoption. Ability to consider and manage various commercial scenarios including alternative pricing models, product costs and other portfolio strategy impacts
  • Product Roadmap Development : Ensure outcome driven product roadmaps with direct line of sight to business results. Ensure understanding and consideration of product risks associated to customer value, viability, usability and feasibility to deliver.
  • Product Introduction : Manage a considered and customer centric approach to product introduction in line with needs of a sales and support organisation split across four regions (APAC, EMEA, LATAM, USA / Canada)
  • Product Lifecycle Management : Ongoing product stewardship to ensure solutions are effectively managed from introduction through to end-of-life, supported by the necessary communications, systems, and processes to drive adoption, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Product Go To Market : Ensure product management has tangible and impactful go to market product strategy and execution for both new and existing product lines
  • Cross-functional Leadership : Establish high trust working relationships to support collaboration with leadership and other key functions needed for product goals to be achieved
  • Stakeholder Management : Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, regional teams, partners, and other internal teams to gather feedback and ensure alignment.
  • Performance Monitoring : Track product performance using targeted business results and key metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Knowledge And Experience - Required

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience in product management and having led team of product managers
  • Ideally has a strong understanding / experience in heavy industry
  • Proven experience in bringing products to market successfully, driving revenue growth for an organization that sells solutions industrial customers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Travel

  • Up to 50% travel may be required
