Our Client: is a privately owned, B2B logistics and sustainability consulting service headquartered in Toronto

Role Title: Head of Finance

Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will have full ownership of the finance function. This is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week in downtown Toronto.

Overview

Head of Finance responsible for leading and owning the finance function for Canadian and US entities, with responsibility for financial planning, reporting, and strategy in a growth-focused organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Finance / Accounting for Canadian and US entities
• Actively contribute to strategic planning as part of the Executive Team
• Hire, manage, and grow a Finance team
• Manage financial operations including bookkeeping, audits, tax, compliance, AP / AR, payroll, and insurance
• Coordinate budgeting, cashflow, and project reconciliation
• Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports and KPIs
• Consolidate Canadian and US financials into unified reporting
• Provide strategic insights to support business planning
• Integrate Finance with other departments and business systems
• Lead migration from QuickBooks to Zoho and optimize finance tech tools
• Drive adoption of AI tools within Finance
• Manage financial aspects of global expansion, including tax and currency optimization

Requirements

• Over five years experience having full accountability for the finance function
• Experience in an entrepreneurial / high growth environment
• Tech-savvy systems-thinker: has led systems implementations, is familiar with AI, is able to design and refine processes and systems
• Clear, confident communicator and team player
• Experience with project accounting / management
• Canada / US experience is a plus

• Salary range: CA$120,000.00–CA$140,000.00 (scope may vary by location)
