GetFresh Ventures is supporting the search for a high-impact Head of E-Commerce & Operations on behalf of one of our portfolio companies—a B2B building materials platform scaling a key product category via e-commerce.

We’re looking for a leader to take full ownership of this channel and lead it through the next phase of growth. The target is clear: scale this e-commerce business unit to $20M+ in revenue over the next 24–36 months.

You’ll be responsible for top-line growth, system implementation, vendor expansion, marketing performance, and team outcomes - with full reporting to the company’s CEO and executive leadership.

The Role

You’ll lead this business unit as a cross-functional operator responsible for revenue, operations, sales workflows, and catalog performance. This role requires sharp execution, structured thinking, and the ability to manage a lean but capable team toward measurable business outcomes.

You’ll present monthly and quarterly revenue updates, growth performance, and operational progress directly to senior executives. You’ll also work closely with a strategic advisor with experience scaling multiple $100M+ businesses - using that support to sharpen plans and accelerate delivery.

You’ll have real ownership: decisions are made fast, progress is measured in weeks, and your success will be directly tied to the growth of the business. This is the kind of role you’ll point to in five years when asked what you helped build—and how you did it.

What You’ll OwnRevenue & Channel Performance
  • Own revenue, gross margin, and contribution targets for the e-commerce channel.
  • Drive customer acquisition through performance marketing, SEO, lifecycle automation, and product bundling.
  • Monitor and optimize ROAS, CAC, AOV, and LTV using real-time reporting systems.
Operational Systems & Automation
  • Lead the transition from spreadsheet-based quoting to structured, automated workflows.
  • Implement CRM, quoting, and order coordination tools that improve visibility and response times.
  • Deploy automations across intake, sales follow-up, margin tracking, and reporting to increase efficiency at scale.
Vendor & Catalog Expansion
  • Own the sourcing, onboarding, and activation of suppliers aligned with category priorities.
  • Expand SKU count, manage page performance, and oversee product margin optimization.
  • Build systems for vendor quoting, pricing validation, and co-marketing execution.
Team Leadership & Execution Management
  • Manage internal team members and contractors across ops, marketing, and fulfillment.
  • Set clear priorities, lead execution sprints, and ensure weekly progress on core metrics.
  • Create a culture of accountability with structured goals, dashboards, and tight feedback cycles.
Executive Reporting & Strategic Visibility
  • Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly revenue and margin performance reports.
  • Communicate project updates, growth forecasts, and roadblocks to the CEO and leadership team.
  • Track progress on major initiatives against timelines and growth targets.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
  • 5–8+ years in e-commerce, digital marketplaces, or product-led B2B environments.
  • Direct revenue ownership and experience managing a business unit with $5M–$10M+ in revenue.
  • Proficient in CRM, quoting, and lifecycle automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Klaviyo, Airtable, etc.).
  • Hands-on track record of scaling SEO and performance marketing channels with measurable ROI.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and reporting to executive stakeholders.
Skills
  • Strong operator with a focus on repeatability, systems thinking, and structured workflows.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce mechanics: conversion funnels, quoting timelines, SKU performance, and vendor economics.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present performance data and growth decisions to executive leadership.
  • Comfortable leading a team and owning outcomes across multiple workstreams.
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • E-commerce revenue scales to $20M+ in 24–36 months.
  • CRM and quoting workflows are automated and embedded in daily operations.
  • Weekly and monthly dashboards provide real-time insight into sales, marketing, and fulfillment.
  • Vendor network expands with high-margin, high-performance SKUs.
  • ROAS, CAC, LTV, and quoting velocity are tracked and improved each quarter.
  • Senior leadership has consistent, data-backed visibility into performance.
