Job description

As the global Head of Delivery Pay (Pricing) and Optimization, you will influence the development of a global approach to courier pay for our independent contractor delivery model. You will be accountable for both short-term tactical changes and long-term pay strategy, working closely with our global functions, including local delivery operations, product, and data science teams. Leveraging economic frameworks to assess markets, prices, and behavior, you will set a global pay strategy for couriers and drive innovation through data and technology to implement a more sophisticated way of enhancing courier pay and incentives. You'll collaborate closely with product and tech teams to develop an effective toolset for directing and advancing courier pay to drive strong network performance and improve customer and restaurant experiences.

What's On Your Plate

  • Direct the development of global courier pay optimization opportunities through new analytical tools and experimentation.
  • Take ownership of global pay analysis methods and industry trends review, utilizing insights to identify and pursue new opportunities and solutions.
  • Develop techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data to evaluate courier pay practices and make meaningful comparisons.
  • Apply statistical modeling methods to identify the potential impact of courier pay strategies on profitability and assess the impact upon implementation.
  • Collaborate with product and tech teams to establish and execute a roadmap to enhance our courier pay technology capabilities and functionalities.
  • Work with Regional Directors and global functions to align on vision and strategy, securing buy-in and engagement for investments.
  • Provide updates and share progress and impact with the senior management team.
  • Develop and guide a high-performing team.

Recipe for Success

  • Strong understanding of pricing models, including demand and price elasticity, and their impact on revenue and profitability.
  • Experience with pricing tools and software, such as Tableau, Excel, R, or Python.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, experimental design, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex pricing strategies and analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify optimization opportunities and develop actionable insights.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, such as product, tech, and finance.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and ambiguous environment where priorities can change and new obstacles arise.
