Job summary

ecruit is seeking a Vice President of Construction in Ontario, Canada, to lead performance, capability and long-term development of its construction operations. This executive aligns business objectives with clear construction priorities, establishes leadership, operating standards and accountability for project teams.

The role drives portfolio performance, sets standards for controls, forecasts, risk, quality and client service while developing leaders and ensuring safe, profitable delivery

Qualifications

• Postsecondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, business or equivalent.
• Significant progressive leadership experience in commercial construction or general contracting.
• Accountability for a portfolio of concurrent construction projects.
• Strong command of project financials, forecasting, contracts and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive and portfolio leadership with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee project management, site operations and safety oversight across the portfolio.
• Establish standards for controls, scheduling, forecasting and risk management.
• Develop leaders, coach project managers and ensure succession planning.
• Manage budgets, staffing, equipment and resource requirements for the department.
• Collaborate with estimating, finance and business development on major pursuits.
• Ensure timely reporting, client satisfaction and continuous improvement.
