Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and self-directed Head of Marketing, Canada to oversee the Canadian Commercial and Public Sector field marketing team and to help accelerate AWS’s growth. The role will be responsible for in-country marketing activities including new customer acquisition, customer engagement, field marketing, and events. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in developing an important geography within an exciting, fast-growing business.

The successful candidate is a marketing leader with experience building and leading teams, earning trust through relationship building, and a proven track record of delivering results. This role requires the ability to work through ambiguity in a highly matrixed organization, think critically about challenges, and be a strategic leader while paying attention to details. The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed and considers customer challenges holistically, designing solutions that leverage AWS offerings. They will collaborate with North American and global marketing teams, utilizing insights from Canadian sales leadership to craft marketing initiatives, account-based plans, measure effectiveness, and adapt strategies based on data.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create compelling, results-driven marketing plans aligned with business objectives
  • Oversee implementation of marketing strategies for Canada, including campaigns, events, and digital marketing
  • Organize and support marketing events
  • Manage and develop the Canadian marketing team
  • Work closely with the Canadian sales team to meet their objectives
  • Develop and execute customer-focused, locally oriented marketing strategies to increase demand, sales, and enhance AWS brand reputation

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of experience in high-tech, B2B sales-facing marketing roles
  • Minimum 5 years of enterprise marketing and team leadership experience
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision making
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • Fluency in French is a plus
  • Proven success in delivering measurable marketing results
  • Expertise in account-based marketing
  • Partner marketing experience, especially in a matrixed environment
  • Understanding of cloud and B2B landscape in Canada
