Head of Business and Financial Planning

Location: Dublin 1

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Join a dynamic, privately owned Irish business at the forefront of retail innovation and mobility energy. With over 250 sites across the island this company continues to invest ambitiously in its retail network, technology, and digital transformation. As it continues to expand its footprint and capabilities, it seeks a commercially driven finance leader to shape and strengthen business and financial planning across its network.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end retail business planning process for a network of licensee-managed service stations.
• Monitor licensee financial performance and provide strategic guidance to improve profitability and compliance.
• Support negotiations and manage agreements with business partners, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and governance standards.
• Oversee non-fuel financial activities
• Drive the evolution of financial reporting at site level, supporting software development and training initiatives.
• Coordinate due diligence and prepare financial appraisals for acquisitions and major investments.
• Produce regular management and Board-level reports, KPIs, and performance insights in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Business Analysis and Sales Support (BASS) team.
• Support tender evaluations and commercial reviews to drive business growth and efficiency.

Requirements

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a professional qualification is essential.
• Proven experience in financial management, ideally in convenience retail, food service, or forecourt operations.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and influence commercial strategy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent financial reporting, budgeting, and presentation abilities.
• Experience with Power BI and financial systems preferred.
• Strong organisational and leadership capabilities, with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Remuneration
