As set out in our mission statement, SAC’s rigorous academic program is complemented by a wide range of co-curricular activities designed to develop “the complete man and well-rounded citizen.” All boys participate in the extensive athletic program (71 teams across 22 sports) and the 116-year-old Cadet Corps. We invite applications for an exciting role as Head of Art at St. Andrew’s College, reporting to the Deputy Head of School.

The college seeks an exceptional educator to teach Grades 10 through 12 Communication Technology and Visual Arts courses. A deep understanding of Adobe products, specifically expertise in Photoshop and its complimentary applications, is essential for this role.

The Head of Art will collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and resources, establish department goals, and pursue experiential learning opportunities and professional development. The Head of Art will ensure compliance with the Ministry of Education’s expectations and will guide and mentor new faculty within the Art Department.

Teachers at St. Andrew’s College bring passion, innovation, and expertise to their instructional practice while espousing our core values of accountability, courage, integrity, creativity, respect, empathy, and resilience. If you are the kind of teacher with a deep sense of purpose, desirous of the autonomy to lead, and seeking support for personal growth, tell us your story.

Candidates are required to hold a Bachelor of Education with Senior Arts qualifications and are preferably certified to teach in Ontario or in pursuit of this designation. The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic credentials and demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life, including extra-curricular responsibilities. Competitive coaching experience is an asset. Additionally, we seek candidates with a demonstrated willingness to participate in and lead community EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) initiatives. Further, the school seeks teachers who are also interested in supporting the school administration through their expertise in data innovation.

If you would like to participate in the full life of a school at the forefront of technology, boasting outstanding classroom and athletic facilities, and fostering a collegial and warm culture, we would like to hear from you. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
