iA Financial Group is seeking a strategic leader to head Advanced Markets & Field Underwriting in Canada. You will guide end-to-end advanced market cases, strengthen national accounts, and collaborate with underwriting, sales, risk management, and partners to promote iA’s value proposition.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, provide technical leadership on medical and financial risk assessment, deliver training, and drive talent development.

What you’ll accomplish with us

As Head of Advanced Market and Field Underwriting, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

• Assume end-to-end accountability for advanced market cases and national accounts, from pre-underwriting through to in-force servicing.
• Develop and position iA’s field underwriting expertise with specialized advisors and distribution partners.
• Provide strong technical leadership in both medical and financial risk assessment.
• Analyze and assess complex sales concepts to ensure alignment with risk appetite, profitability objectives, and client experience.
• Lead and mobilize a multidisciplinary team, including underwriters, case coordinators, and specialized experts (e.g., tax, actuarial), while acting as a credible leader with internal teams, distribution partners, and reinsurers.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions, and actively support talent development and knowledge transfer.

• Is recognized for their ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering talent development and knowledge transfer.
• Has significant experience in underwriting within the advanced market segment, including proven leadership in managing high-impact, cross-functional initiatives.
• Advanced level of English proficiency required, as the role involves regular interactions, presentations, and collaboration with partners, distributors, and stakeholders across Canada.
