University of Alberta is seeking a senior lifeguard supervisor to lead the lifeguarding and instructional team at North Campus in Edmonton. The position reports to the Coordinator, Aquatic Facility and Programs, and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed within provincial regulations and university risk

Responsibilities

• Senior on-deck supervisor responsible for real-time safety and mentorship of lifeguarding and instructional team.
• Assists in training and ensures casual lifeguards and instructors maintain high standards of surveillance, client service, and curriculum delivery in compliance with provincial legislation and university risk frameworks.
• Ability to work variable hours including evenings and weekends as required.

Job description

This position has a term length of 1 year plus 1 day.

Location -This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Aquatic Facility and Programs, this position is an integral member of the Campus & Community Recreation Team. Campus & Community Recreation supports the management of sport and recreation facilities, programs, services and events serving a variety of communities including University of Alberta students, staff, faculty, and general community members.

This position will act as the senior on-deck supervisor responsible for the real-time safety as well as mentorship of the lifeguarding and instructional team. This role will assists in training and in ensuring that all casual lifeguards and instructors maintain an exceptional standard of surveillance, client service, and curriculum delivery in absolute compliance with provincial legislation and university risk frameworks.

This position requires the ability to work variable hours including evenings and weekends as required.
