Job Description: At Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, an exceptional guest experience begins even before check-in and extends throughout every stay. As a Housekeeping Head Houseperson, the organizational support you provide to the Housekeeping team will ensure our guest rooms are well equipped and welcoming – and our guests feel valued.

What you will be doing:

  1. Assist in all daily duties of the Housekeeping Department
  2. Provide daily supervision of housekeeping housepersons
  3. Provide on-going training and support to the housekeeping housepersons
  4. Coordinate with Housekeeping Leadership team in regards to scheduling, task assignments, and projects
  5. Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of housekeeping vehicles through weekly inspections
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the furniture storage compound
  7. Perform monthly inventory and daily control of housekeeping equipment and furniture
  8. Support employee performance reviews in conjunction with Director of Housekeeping
  9. Ensure execution of daily task sheets by all housepersons in an effective and productive manner
  10. Ensure monthly productivity targets are met
  11. Demonstrate, train and deliver service excellence to all guests
  12. Maintain positive work environment through effective leadership
  13. Other housekeeping duties as assigned
  14. Vacuum repairs/maintenance as required
  15. Perform Cot/crib maintenance monthly

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 1 Year of previous housekeeping experience required, preferably in a supervisory level
  2. Proven leadership ability required
  3. Previous supervisory experience an asset
  4. Must be flexible and able to work various shifts
  5. Must be in good physical condition
  6. Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  7. Strong knowledge of the property
  8. Must be able to work under pressure and prioritize duties
  9. Must be organized and able to effectively delegate duties
  10. Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License

Your team and working environment:

  1. Standing: 6-8 hrs/day
  2. Sitting: 0-2 hrs/day
  3. Walking: 6-8 hrs/day
  4. Bending/reaching: 4-6 hrs/day
  5. Pushing/pulling: 2-4 hrs/day
  6. Physical effort: moderate, does not lift more than 50 lbs (23kgs)
  7. Visual effort: moderate, detail oriented
  8. Environmental stress: high - chemical use, responding to a variety of guest calls
  9. Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel
  10. Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
