Head Grower – High Technology Organic Greenhouse (Canada)

Salary : CAD $70,000 – $110,000 + Performance Bonus

We are partnering with a pioneering and sustainability-driven greenhouse operator to appoint a Head Grower to lead their innovative, high-tech organic facility located in Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced greenhouse professional to manage full-cycle organic crop production — from seed to shipping — within a technologically advanced, purpose-built greenhouse environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll play a key leadership role across production, people, process, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and develop the growing team, implementing productivity goals using systems like Ridder Productive.
  • Oversee procurement planning, materials management, and budget control.
  • Optimise crop performance using Argus climate control systems and the LetsGrow.com platform.
  • Supervise maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and uphold a high operational standard.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, organic certification, and workplace safety.
  • Manage pest control via IPM strategies and ensure a clean, productive growing environment.
  • Report on production data, issues, and outcomes directly to the CEO.

What We’re Looking For :

  • 5–10 years of experience in a grower management role, with at least 3 years in a high-tech greenhouse environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant physiology and environmental controls.
  • Proven hands-on experience with tomato and / or cucumber crops is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with certification schemes like GlobalG.A.P. and organic regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication (Spanish and English preferred), and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Mechanically minded with the ability to oversee greenhouse systems, equipment, and maintenance.
  • A valid or obtainable Pesticide Applicator’s License (within 12 months).
