We have a great opportunity in our Corporate Communications Department. We are seeking to hire an experienced Head of Corporate Communications!
What You Will Do
As the Head of Corporate Communications, you will be responsible for leading all internal and external communications for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). You will oversee a team of professionals located across multiple worksites, including Transit Control. Also, you will provide strategic communications advice and develop tactics to promote awareness and understanding of major corporate initiatives among employees and the general public.
In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring a cohesive narrative of all the TTC’s work across the organization. The Corporate Communications department is responsible for defining the mode, style, and timing of communication strategies and providing professional advice and strategic counsel to executives, senior management, and the TTC Board. As well, takes an active role in managing the reputation of the TTC and must be media savvy with a strong understanding of proactive media relations. The role also oversees individuals working in the TTC’s Transit Control Centre, which are responsible for real-time communications on the TTC’s operations.
You will be working closely with the Marketing & Customer Experience team to deliver on employee events to boost engagement and promote a culture of belonging at the TTC. This includes events with all three levels of government, therefore, experience with government protocol and overseeing major podium events is required.
As the Head of Corporate Communications, you must be well-versed in diversity and inclusion principles, and will be responsible for leading all internal communications related to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
