Job description

Join us to apply for the Head Cook Trainee role at T & T Supermarket.

Reporting to the Central Kitchen Manager or Store Department Head, the Head Cook Trainee manages, trains, and supervises Kitchen Deli Production staff. Responsibilities include overseeing the production of products like BBQ, Hot Food, Dim Sum, Sushi, ensuring quality, inventory, wastage control, and compliance with HACCP and corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the kitchen or store production environment and team performance.
  • Ensure adherence to recipes, SOPs, and quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory, quality, and food safety, including FIFO and temperature records.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
  • Develop products for special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in Kitchen Deli products (BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi) with 5+ years and 3+ years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, workplace safety, and cost control.
  • Ability to train and manage staff, communicate effectively in English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin is an asset).
  • Flexible with shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of relevant tools and equipment.
