The Opportunity - Head Coach - Jr Broncos Volleyball Club (U15 or U16 Girls) - part-time, contract

The Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing a competitive club volleyball team, fostering a positive team environment, and supporting athletes’ skill development, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for youth athletic development.

This is more than a coaching role — it’s an opportunity to shape the next generation of high-performing student-athletes. As Head Coach, you’ll play a vital role in preparing athletes for the collegiate level, helping them build the discipline, resilience, and skill set needed to succeed both on the court and in life.

Compensation: $3,000

Key Job Functions

  • Developing a season training plan
  • Coordinating and facilitating tryouts with the support of the Club Coordinator
  • Planning and facilitating team practices for the duration of the season
  • Collaborate with assistant coaches, club staff, and parents to support team operations
  • Fulfilling the duties of a head coach at all club tournaments throughout the season
  • Participating in additional events such as Jr Broncos Volleyball Day, fundraisers, and ID Camps
  • Monitor and evaluate athlete performance and progression
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture
  • Ensure player safety and injury prevention through proper training and conditioning
  • Represent the club professionally at all times

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required

  • NCCP Development and/or Advanced Development Coach Certified
  • Previous coaching or high-level playing experience in volleyball (club, high school, or college level preferred)
  • 2+ years coaching at the competitive club level preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of varying skill levels
  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to promoting inclusivity and diversity by actively seeking out and valuing diverse perspectives, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals of all backgrounds, and continuously striving to create a culture of respect and understanding
  • All successful candidates will be expected to be available for training opportunities.
  • Applicants must be available for up to 3 evening training sessions per week and multiple local and regional weekend tournaments throughout the season.

Conditions Of Employment

  • Current Criminal Reference check that is free of any offences
  • Active First Aid / CPR Training
  • Must respect and actively promote occupational health and safety policies
  • Travel outside of regular office hours will be required
