Job summary

Univar Solutions Canada LTD is hiring for a site-based role in Ontario. You will train as HazMat back-up and ensure safe handling of flammable and hazardous materials, while supporting waste management and plant operations to maintain continuous production.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts. Regular hours 6:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Good mechanical skills to understand machinery function and safe operation.
  • Thrive in a team-based environment and contribute to continuous learning.
  • Ability to read labels and SOPs with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Train as back-up in HazMat classes 1 & 2.
  • Proper handling and management of flammable and hazardous materials and wastes.
  • Monitor and move wastes to designated areas.
  • Operate Machinery (Styrofoam Densifier).
  • Perform inspections and record-keeping: Waste Location, Area and Pre-Shift.
  • Assist with shutdowns or special assignments as needed.
  • Support Skid Reclaim/Collection plant-wide operations.
  • Sort in Plant 2 Compactor Room according to recycling process.
  • Collect Kevlar products from stamping and welds and Ricoh toner cartridges.
  • Support facilities projects and innovations.
