Job Description

WSP has an opportunity for an entry level Hazardous Materials Data QC role to support an ongoing large-scale asbestos survey program. The program focus is QC data against an established survey methodology as part of data review/uploading process into a large cloud-based database. The focus of the role is consistency and completeness of data and does not require prior hazmat survey experience. If you have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and are well versed in maintaining data in existing spreadsheets and client-specific online applications, this opportunity may be for you.

What you can expect to do here:

Reporting to the Lower Mainland OHS Group Manager and individual Project Managers, your responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Review of data for consistency with survey methodology and terminology.
  • Review of data for completeness.
  • Maintaining and updating survey data as facility assets change.
  • Function as central resource for client and program specific information.
  • Assist in the preparation and planning of inspection surveys based on data gaps.
  • Coordinating site access for inspection surveys conducted by others.
  • Coordinate sample collection and submission to analytical laboratories, and subsequent tracking of results and invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of site-specific safety plans using existing project templates.
  • Serve as the central check-in for field crews.


What You'll Bring To WSP…

  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to technical excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Hazardous Materials Management or Environmental diploma / certificate an asset.
  • Experience in health and safety / hazardous materials / environmental assessments / monitoring an asset.


Compensation:

Salary range (in British Columbia): $55,400 - $76,200

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
