Job description

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mine Haul Truck Swap Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Haul Truck Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating a Mine Haul Truck.

This is a permanent position where team members are required to work up to 8 hours a day. Candidates will be responsible for swapping haul trucks for operator breaks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate large Mine Haul Trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all relevant legislation, company policies, and procedures.
• Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
• Clean operator cabins and refill equipment fluids as needed.
• Complete logbooks and daily safety and production reports.
• Accurately track load sources and destinations.
• Communicate with other operators using two-way radios, horns, and light signals to ensure safety.
• Use the Mine Haul Truck according to operating practices to haul materials like sand, aggregates, blasted rock, and snow to various locations on the mine site.
• Monitor gauges and indicators, report discrepancies, and ensure the truck is functioning properly.
