Job description

We are seeking an experienced Harvesting Supervisor for a company in Dawson Creek, BC. You will provide all necessary support and expertise in harvest supervision and construction to meet the company's facility requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise harvesting, road construction, road maintenance, and deactivation activities.
  • Participate in timber reconnaissance, layout, grass seeding, post-harvest assessments, and hazard abatement.
  • Document and data management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and applicable government regulations.
  • May coordinate special projects as needed.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Forest Technician Diploma.
  • 3 years of forestry experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • In-depth knowledge of forestry procedures and harvesting systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of road construction and road maintenance activities/techniques including deactivation.
  • Knowledge of applicable government regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Ability to operate ATVs.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License required.
