Job summary

Conifex-Timber-Inc. in Mackenzie, BC is seeking a Harvesting Supervisor to lead on-site logging, road construction, and contractor management, ensuring safe, efficient fiber delivery to the mill.

This field-heavy role combines hands-on supervision with planning, budgeting, and people development. You will oversee day-to-day operations, track safety and production metrics, work with planning and silviculture teams, and collaborate with contractors and government agencies to maintain compliance

Qualifications

• University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry (or related field), RPF, RFT, or eligible to enroll with the Forest Professionals of British Columbia.
• At least 2 years of forestry experience in areas such as cruising, planning, harvesting, and silviculture. Prior supervisory or leadership experience is an asset.
• A strong work ethic and love of the outdoors—this is a role where you'll be working on the ground and in the forest.
• Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with BC forestry regulations and policies.
• Computer skills and an aptitude for forestry-based technologies.
• A Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise logging, road construction, maintenance, and deactivation work to keep operations running safely and on schedule.
• Manage contractor and employee safety, ensure compliance with OHS standards and forestry legislation, and provide ongoing training and coaching to your crews.
• Plan and help deliver the annual harvest, road, and post harvest programs, including productivity audits, waste assessments, and hazard abatement.
• Track and report on safety, cost, quality, and delivery performance, and take part in continuous improvement work across the operation.
• Support budgeting and monthly forecasting for your area of responsibility.
• Build and maintain working relationships with contractors, local communities, First Nations, and government agencies.
• Other duties as assigned, with room to get involved in planning, silviculture, or biomass work depending on your interests.

Description

You are a forestry professional with a passion for safety, leadership, and field operations, we want you to join our Fibre Team as a Harvesting Supervisor. You will play a key role in supervising Conifex's harvesting program, including logging, road construction, and contractor management.As a Harvesting Supervisor, you will oversee the day to day delivery of Conifex's harvesting program, working directly with contractors and crews to keep logs and fibre moving safely and efficiently to our mill. This is a field heavy role that also carries real responsibility for planning, budgeting, and coaching your team.You will spend much of your time on site, supervising logging and road construction, reviewing deactivation and maintenance work, and checking in on water log transport and hauling operations. Back at the office, you will track safety, cost, and production numbers, help build annual budgets, and work through the permitting and planning details that keep the program on track.This role reports to the Harvesting Superintendent and works closely with our Planning, Silviculture, and mill teams, along with contractors, local government, and other stakeholders in the Mackenzie area. You will be counted on to lead by example on safety, keep your crews and contractors accountable, and help develop the people on your team.
