Duties and Responsibilities :

• Develop block diagrams and schematics for optical transceivers from initial concept phase.
• Be responsible for the specifications, design, test, integration, and release of new products.
• Create Hardware Unit Design Specification documents and test plans.
• Develop designs employing bare-die chips and microelectronic assembly techniques (wire-bonding, flip chipping).
• Collaborate with layout engineers on high layer-count PCB designs.
• Work with FPGA / FW / Test engineering teams during product integration.
• Provide engineering support during production and transfer to manufacturers.
• Work cross-functionally within R&D to meet design objectives.
• Complete full product design lifecycle for system components.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Understand product architecture, design, processes, and tools.
• Perform other projects as needed.

Qualifications : Basic :

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
• At least 5 years of high-speed board design experience.
• Knowledge of EM and RF fundamentals (impedance matching, S-parameters).
• Proficiency in Mentor Graphics DxDesigner.
• Experience in fiber optics testing and measurements.
• Knowledge of test instruments (Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, etc.).
• Ability to lead design teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
• Ability to produce high-quality design documentation.
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiar with standard concepts and procedures in the field.
• Limited travel required.

Preferred :

• Knowledge of optical component reliability and telecom standards (Telcordia, IEC, ITU).
• Experience with Hyperlynx for SI and PI simulations.
• Experience with optical transceivers.
• Programming skills in LabView, Python, or Matlab.
